Volunteer for the Summer 2014 Downtown Bike Count – July 22nd and 26th

The Chicago Department of Transportation’s (CDOT) Complete Streets Program needs volunteers for the Summer 2014 Downtown Bike Count. The Summer 2014 count is scheduled for the following dates and times:

 Tuesday, July 22nd from 7 AM - 9 AM

Tuesday, July 22nd from 4 PM - 6 PM

Saturday, July 26th from 12 PM - 2 PM

According to recent data, Chicago has the second highest number of bike commuters in the country and bicycling is growing faster than any other mode of transportation in the City! During last year’s Summer Bike Count volunteers recorded over 14,500 bicycle trips and helped document the need for more innovative bicycle infrastructure. To volunteer contact David Smith, CDOT bikeways planner, at david.smith@tylin.com or Katie Gallagher, CDOT bikeways planning intern, at kgallagher@apexconsults.com.

 Thanks!
