Alderman Harry Osterman of the 48th Ward and event promoters expect hundreds of bicyclists dressed in vintage to descend on the an Uptown neighborhood April 21. The event is set to help launch a season for Vintage Garage Chicago, a monthly flea market there.

“A bike ride is the best way to celebrate the arrival of spring,” says Melissa Sands of Vintage Promotions, LLC, producer of the show. “And wearing vintage for the ride is a great way to launch the season of fun and finds in the Vintage Garage.”

It’s also an opportunity to draw attention to improvements in the area that will make life better for cyclists.

The ride will begin at 11 a.m. at 5051 N Broadway, at the Vintage Garage for a ride the neighborhood. Ample bike parking will be available and anyone dressed head-to-toe in vintage will receive free admission into the event.

Participants can also have their photo taken with their bike by the Vintage Garage Chicago photographer and be eligible to win a $50 gift certificate to spend in the garage.

Vintage bicycles and accessories will also be on display and for sale at the event.

Looks like fun and I am going to try to attend, but that voice on the video with the fast and furious up-talk is really grating! ;-)
