Just wondering if anyone has tried these new pads out.

I have finally decide that my Raleighs need to get a bit more modern in the braking dept. Last Friday's rains made stopping more of a challenge than I would like.

I have heard that Kool Stop Salmon pads are also good.

I have not tried the Velo-Orange ones, but I would say that promising no squeal is somewhat risky, since there are so many factors that influence squealing: rim wear, brake design, degree of toe-in, dirt on the rim or brake pad, humidity, etc.

If you are simply looking for better brake performance those Kool Stop salmon pads will work great. I have these ones (same compound) on our tandem and I can definitely tell the difference between these and the stock ones. The Koolstops aren't cheap though. A cheaper alternative that I have good eperience with are these pads

Thanks so much for the feedback and links. Squeaking is not an issue for me. I am just interested in having decreased stopping distances.
