Hi.  I recently purchased a Surly Big Easy.  It is replacing a Trek Transport that was stolen.  While I'm really looking forward to using the Big Easy, I would like to have the lower racks / foot rests that the Transport had.

The xtracycle had (has) these accessories called utubes.  They are exactly what I would like to have for my Big Easy.  Only issue is that the current version of these UTubes does not work with the Big Easy / Big Dummy lineup.  And the prior versions are not readily available.

Do any of you have any experience with this issue?  Is there a relatively easy DIY way to create these UTubes.  Would this be something a framemaker could craft?

I appreciate any thoughts or tips anyone might have.
