The Chainlink

I'm new to the area and curious about shops that refurbish bicycles in the city, preferably in the vicinity of the Ukrainian Village area. In the market for a mechanically sound, used hybrid, for daily use as a commuter bike. Anyone have any suggestions out here? Thanks.

West Town Bikes (Ciclo Urbano) at Division and Campbell (1 block west of Western) has great bikes

totally refurbished and proceeds go toward neighborhood youth cycling efforts

also - Working Bikes Co-op : they are in Pilsen. Be sure to check the website as they have limited hours.

Working bikes is at 2434 S. Western ave. about 6 blocks south of the western ave pink line "L" stop. They are open Wed 12-7 Thurs 12-7 Fri 12-5 Sat. 12-5.It is off season so they should have a good selection

Both are great places!  Also, I hear good things about A Nearly New Shop Mike’s Bikes of Oak Park.

I was at Working Bikes today and they are very well stocked-- I picked up a bike that I'm thrilled about.

It's just a 20 minute bus ride from Ukie Village.

I thought I'd throw my 2 wheels in:

You might want to go to the Police Station 'House' and request to talk to what they
call the Watch Commander for the Police--ask for the Watch Commander. They are the
manager /supervisor's that oversees the police officers on shift. If you get in
good with with this person or I should say have a good rapport they can direct the officers
under their control to focus on that area of 'safety concern'. This could also
work for complaints about officers-or commendations for that matter.

Meant for a different thread (posted there too.)
