The Chainlink

Two things that would have made my commute today better...

1. Water and windproof pants. I don't know what I did with the ones I bought last year, but they would have been awesome on the ride home tonight.

2. Ski goggles. I always thought they might be too much, but the slush felt like little daggers in my peepers out there tonight.

The rest of my gear held up well. Granted, I only rode about four miles since I'm trying out a bus and bike combination route but it was not bad.

What about you guys? Anything you forgot to pack today?

Thoughts?

Those craft pants look pretty sweet. I bought snowpants but I don't like them. Maybe I should head back today, I just dropped a bundle at REI last night, got some ski goggles and these boots: http://www.rei.com/product/772094
They say only down to 20 degrees F but today with a thin merino sock they were awesome (4 mi. commute).

Now I gotta find gloves, I thought my fingers were going to fall off this morning.
i forgot to pack a can of courage. yesterday i rode to work, but when the weather turned ugly during the day, i left my bike at work and got a ride to the train station. and i was amazed to see bikers around the city while i was changing trains. i felt like a winter biker wuse. but tonight, i'm getting back on it. i can't leave the bike at work over the weekend...plus, it's sunny out, albiet -8 wind chill. good thing i brought that can o' courage today. :)
The Marshalls or TJ Maxx in Chicago has a pair of clear goggles for 9.99!
