Last weekend was awesome. The weather was perfect and with two different rides going, I decided to do them both. The first one was an touring ride around Chicago. The other was a late ride. It’s a big thing and sponsored by major corporations. It’s nice to ride around the city at night. With the police blocking traffic and the drunks coming out to cheer you on…who could ask for anything more?

I woke up and headed to the Metra, as this was to be my transportation downtown. I departed Riverside train station at 8:40am and made it to Union station at 9. The CCC (Chicago Cycling Club) ride was to  start at 9:30. The ride was nice, as I got a bit of a history lesson  in the process. This was social ride so the pace was set accordingly. After the ride we stopped for lunch and went are own ways around 2:30pm.

The second ride was called “the L.A.T.E. ride“, and for good reason  because those festivities started around 10pm and the ride itself started around 1am. I met up with some CAMBr members (Chicago Area Mountain bikers ), and we joined 9000 other riders in the mayhem. Good times!! I finally made it home around 9:15 Sunday morning. I didn’t take any photos of Sunday morning…I just wanted to get some sleep.

Very impressive!

Maybe it's time for you to do a brevet and join the randonneur group, they do 24 hour riding straight!

Thanks, i just may do that.

Look forward to seeing you around. :)
