The Supreme Court has upheld the ruling, and the state of Georgia has put Troy Anthony Davis to death. What a sad day for America, and the American justice system.

Care to fill us in a little Mark?

Found this on amnesty international:

It seems that there were serious doubts as to his guilt, coerced witnesses and the like.

Wikipedia does a decent job of summarizing, although as always, the veracity of the information is only as good as the last person to edit:

Just got done reading this through a little while ago.

"When they took the 4th amendment away, I was quiet because I didn't deal drugs.  When they took the 6th amendment away, I was quiet because I had never been arrested.  When they took the 2nd amendment away, I was quiet because I didn't own a gun.  Now they've taken away the 1st amendment, and all I can do is be quiet." -- Fred Albury

So today's it's a total stranger. Next week it may be a neighbor. Next month it may be a distant relative. Next year it may be a close family member.
