Well I know the standing Lincoln is in the park just north of North Avenue at about Dearborn, so that must be the one you see Northbound. I take the lakefront in and Dearborn to the park home, too.
Hmmm...next one needs to be a little harder.
This could be fun--maybe change it to "Trivia-statues and landmarks"?
And for anyone who wants to know more about the two statues: http://www.abrahamlincolnonline.org/lincoln/art/chisculp.htm
There's also the Lincoln statue on Lawrence & Western, in front of Walgreens(Lincoln Square). I think there's another in one of the Museums...maybe the Art Institute.
I know these aren't the ones that you were referencing, but still worth mention.
Could you give us a hint? I know I am being dense, but I cannot figure out what you mean by "ties in closely to this discussion".
This might be interpreting monument too broadly, but Lincoln Park Zoo? And every time I see that avatar I wonder what DUG is doing here.
Well I know the President Lincoln statue in Grant Park and the General Grant statue in Lincoln Park were installed due to a delivery error...from what I've heard, they should be switched and placed in their respective parks.
Right!
I think Howard is trying to usurp my powers.

Well, so long as you are here, what do you think Howard/DUG was referring to--other local monument related to Lincoln?
p.s. What powers? :-)

Did not know it was there! When I next head south will have to have a look.

Or for a more esoteric answer, the statute of Stephen Douglas atop the pillar at the Tomb of Stephen Douglas at 35th Street.
