Tour de Fat car trade opportunity

New Belgium is running an awesome program at Tour de Fat this year where one smart person trades in their car for an awesome custom bike of their choice. Each car-for-bike swapper will choose a local bike shop to help turn a $2,250 budget into an ultimate car-replacement commuter bike. Coming up on 10 years of car-freedom in September. And I don't wish I had a car to ditch. And not terribly jealous of the opportunity to win that juicy prize, as I've probably saved $60k over those 10 years by not owning a car. I hope the prize-winners experience the full intended benefit.

A belated thank you to everyone who made Tour de Fat possible this year: staff and volunteers from West Town Bikes, The Chainlink, New Belgium and more. The festival was really incredible and (for those who missed it) raised $25,000 for WTB. Not bad, for a day in the park. I was especially touched to see all the WTB teenagers helping out too. See you next year!
