This weekend and more - What's happening on ActiveTrans volunteer front

The Active Transportation Alliance needs tabling volunteers for our booth at the NBC5 Healthy Living Fair this weekend at Navy Pier. Help us promote the organization’s new name and inclusive mission through pitching membership and our signature, bicycle event the Bank of America Bike the Drive.

The Healthy Living Fair has great exhibitors and plenty of TV personalities with whom you can rub elbows. Volunteers can sign up for two-hour shifts:

Saturday, March 21: 9:30—11:30am, 11:30am—1:30pm, 1:30—3:30pm, and 3:30—5:30pm.

Sunday, March 22: 10:30am—12:30pm, 12:30pm—2:30pm, and 2:30pm—4:30pm

Volunteers will receive a complimentary Bank of America Bike the Drive or other snazzy event t-shirt.

Hit the streets for better biking

Sign up to be a Streetside Outreach volunteer and help the Active Transportation Alliance get the word out about Chicagoland’s movement for better biking and walking. Streetside Outreach is an opportunity for you to engage other friendly cyclists around the projects and issues that matter most to you. Active Trans needs your help to realize our goal of thirty streetside service stations throughout city and suburbs during Bike to Work Week this June. Hone your membership pitching skills and safety messages at one of the following Outreach training sessions:

7pm, Thursday, May 7*
12pm, Friday, May 15
7pm, Monday, May 25*
7pm, Tuesday, June 2*

*Come at 6pm for Bicycle Commuter Challenge team leader meetup and pizza.

All trainings occur at Active Transportation Alliance Headquarters, 9 W. Hubbard St., Suite 402, Chicago, IL 60521. RSVP at least a week in advance of each event to matthew@activetrans.org
