Suggestions for 50-75-mile Metra-to-Metra day rides?

Hello,

I've been doing a lot of out-and-back rides and would like to change things up. I'm looking for suggestions for nice, scenic/rural point-to-point rides accessible by Metra. I was thinking of heading from Kenosha to Delavan and then down to Harvard, or from Harvard down to Aurora, but I'm wondering what else is out there. Ideally, most or at least much of the riding would be on quiet roads, not trails.

I've ridden up to Lake Bluff Brewery, had a beer, and rode back or trained back on Metra.

I let you do the reasearch but out on there is a pretty great trail that run south into joliet, take one of the metra lines that heads due west and catch it, south to joliet, take a turn and pick up a train in new lenox (mokena) and head back

Harvard to Lake Geneva?

This is from  a ride a few years ago.

Metra to Crystal Lake, Fox River Trail, under various names to Aurora, Metra back. Bonus, CL to A is downhill, all the way. (Even though there are plenty of hills, you're following a flowing river.) You can also bail to Metra at Elgin and West Chicago.

Greg, I did exactly that ride last week and it was a lot of fun. Though I didn't realize I was going downhill--and here I was feeling pretty good about my time. :)

Serge, that looks perfect! I will have to give it a shot. I've also been curious about what it's like west of Kenosha. I have the Wisconsin bike maps but I haven't used them enough to know how well they reflect the ground truth (and IIRC there are many roads that aren't rated on those maps).
