Someone harvested about 5 wheels from the pub ride tonight!
One of which was mine!
I'm pissed, I'm sure the others with missing wheels are pissed, and you're probably pissed if you're reading this!
It's bullshit and I know wheels are hard to get back, but the least we can do is try.
The flea market and craigslist are the places to look!
If anyone hears anything let us know!
I had a rear white velocity deep V with 17 and 19 tooth cogs on either side.
If you lost your wheel let me know the description.
I have people who will be scouring the flea markets this weekend.
All we can do is try!

What gate? Was it some random gate in front of a neighboring building, a gate on the bar's property,...?

I even had a chain tensioner on my wheel!
They were stolen from next to El Mamey Lounge on North ave and Talman.
There were no bike racks, so all the bikes were locked to the gates and everyone whos bike was on the inside had their shit taken.
Why is this unbelievable; do you not think thieves carry tools or know how to take apart bikes?

BTW Lindsay, what kind of chain tugs were on your bike? Curious if they were tightened with a wrench or allen key. Mine need an allen key.
Needed a wrench to get it off...It was on there good though, I even dreaded having to take that thing off.
This whole thing is annoying and I just can't believe they got away with our wheels.
We were only in the bar for 25 minutes and people were outside smoking the whole time.
Just seems odd to me.
There is a special ring of hell for bike thieves.
First quote for a new wheel from Johnny Sprockets is $180, HAH!. Looks like I'm gonna have to order the parts myself and build it at the next West Town wheel building class. So bummed, they aren't offering the class again till May. %$%$#$@%^&!
Ryan, message me, I have a wheel I can lend you until you get yours built up... even has a red tire, just PLEASE lock it

That sucks that your wheels got stolen! Rear wheels are expensive, will keep an eye out Ryan and Lindsay..
Sorry about your wheel loss... I have been seeing way more of this lately than anytime in the last 5 years at the bike shop that I work at.

Speaking of which - Rapid Transit Cycleshop is holding a free Wheel Building Seminar tomorrow April 10th, from 6-8 PM hosted by Bailey Newbrey and Jesse Hautau.

If you are interested in learning wheel building, please feel free to attend.

next time? mace-wielding lookouts.
Luckily I found a spare that will suit me until I can make a new one. I am totally going to that seminar tonight :)

I will say as pissed off as I am about this I have been forced to understand wheel part dementions like hubs and axles and such so I order the right parts. digital calipers are so f-ing awesome! Now I just need to figure out if I'm going to build an exact match part for part or get fancy. decisions decisions.
