"With all the stolen bike posts lately (and no one thinking "I wonder if there's something under Useful Links for this."), I think it's well past time to make a sticky about the Stolen Bike Registry"

Unexpected beautiful week and a few more to come!  Get out and ride!!

Try http://www.chicagopolice.org then choose "On-line Services" then "Bicycle Registration" and you will have registered your bicycle.  When stolen they can access the information.

Problem:  The site is old, the data is stale, and they probably don't have the manpower to do much about it.

Opportunity:  Database for charging $25 registration fee.

My friends bike was stolen out of my garage on 2/28 during the day. It is a red Giant Boulder. The picture attached is of a similar bike, just bigger. It has a rear mounted rack and goes by the name "Big Red". Already posted on the stolen bike registry and am scouring craigslist. Please PM me if you see anything. Stolen from garage at Damen and Chicago.

Damn damn damn!  Will look out for it.

Hey Ya'll. I am new to the forum. But, I know that I've played around with https://bikeindex.org which is a pretty neat easy to use service for registering your bikes. I even think they have them at a few different bike shops downtown.

Hello everybody, my beloved Mercier Aquila Euro was stolen from me on April 9th. It's the exact same bicycle in the picture only it has a maroon-to-orange fade paint job. It has toe clips and a "Working Bikes" sticker on the seat tube. Was stolen around Kedzie and Foster

Hey folks, my girlfriend pulled my bike out of the garage around noon today (434 W Aldine Avenue) to get her car out and unfortunately forgot to put it back in. Of course by the time she realized, it was long gone.
This bike means a lot to me, I built it from the ground up.
Its a single speed with an aluminum frame, it has a round silver and black sticker on the down tube, a silver and black Fuji seat, black deep v's with a Thickslick on the front, a chopped flat bar with silver and black Crank Brothers grips, no front brake just one on the back, a black 46T Sugino sprocket and a silver KMC Kool Knight chain
Please let me know if you spot it

Please file a report with the Chicago Stolen Bike Registry.

Greetings from suburban Barrington, where I naively thought my bike was safe from theft.

From my garage, my 2008 52cm Cannondale Six/13 was stolen in the last couple days.

Blue with silver accents, similar to picture attached. Fancy Italian wheelset, blue Speedplay Candy pedals, cool silver Cannondale bottle cage.

Serial Number: SO89350. 2008

Police Report filed with Barrington Police Department: 1404-0449

If you see it, grab it!

Thanks,

Jerod
