Spring/Summer 2010 Trail Conditions

North Branch Trail (around the stables on March 9): Still snowy and slushy, but thawing.

Does anyone know what condition the Tinley Creek Trail is in? Would it be rideable after Open Streets in Oak Forest on Saturday?

Lovely garter snake quietly sunning himself at the Swing Bridge, and a much smaller one on the trail. Had to swerve to avoid harming the little guy. They are out and about and love the warmth of sun-baked asphalt, so please watch for them. I find their automobile-smashed remains here in McKinley Park all the time. They are also city-dwellers.

North Branch March 18: Mostly clear, but you'll be riding over small sticks or leaves at times.

Easily doable with a road bike.
