The Chainlink

south side of Division St between Washtenaw Ave & Rockwell St

Biking eastwards there yesterday, I noticed a very wobbly, seemingly extra-sparkly bike lane that was missing the expected arrows and bike symbols of city-made lanes.  I wish now I had taken some photos.

Did someone go all Yehuda Moon or is there some other explanation I'm not considering?

Yehuda's lanes were painted pretty straight- and he had a Sharrow stencil :)
Heh. I like it -- midnight guerilla stealth bike laning. Makes me want to buy a ninja suit and a gallon of white paint.
I live right by there. I'm going to have to check it out today (if it stops raining at least).
Ha, good call!

I noticed a week or two ago that sharrows and bike symbols had been added.  Anybody seen evidence of this being done elsewhere around town?
I noticed this when they first did it too.  I believe it was done by the city, but it looks like they used the same type of "paint" as they do when they reroute roads for construction projects.  It's sort of like paint tape, and it's very hard to apply in a straight line.  The reason it's even worse now is because they didn't block the area off and let it dry, and all the people driving across it to park on the other side got it stuck to their tires and tore it up before it had cured properly.
