Where do I pick up the Lake Shore path once you get to the entrance of Navy Pier?

At lower Lake Shore Drive and Illinois, head south on the east sidewalk. You will cross a bridge (just looks like sidewalk) and pick up the path on the south end.

Going north at the same intersection, stay on the sidewalk on the east side and head towards Grand. At Grand, the Lakefront Trail will be to your right.

Good luck!
Thank you! It's been a mystery to me for a few weeks now!

Ya, it's always fun going down there and deciding to go further south. A little exploring is always involved due to the path losing you there. (Yes! I blame the path!)

I hear that it's much less congested the further south you go, so I'll ride until my legs bleed if it means that I don't have to dodge this, that, and the other.

Once you get south of the Yacht club, the path gets much better and the best views of the city can be had from riding out to the Planetarium and Promontory Point. These are also great spots to take a break, sit on the grass....

It's a lot less congested although there's a stretch around 35th were there are frequently people having picnics. Things pickup between 50th and 60th but it's much less busy than on the north side. Also, you should check out northerly island by the museum campus if you get the chance.
