Skokie Valley Bike Path Closure

On July 20, 2009, we will be closing the Skokie Valley Bike Path between Laurel Ave. and Deerpath Rd.

This closure is necessary to complete the extension of the Skokie Valley Bike Path to the North Shore Bike Path at IL Route 176. The regrading and paving of the new intersection will be done at this time. An area of the existing path must be removed to ensure a smooth transition to the new path. The closure will last approximately two weeks, during which time warning signs will be posted along the path.

During this time, the asphalt surface will be removed and there will be a drop off of 4" to 10". Barricades will be placed at these locations. During working hours, there may be construction equipment present in this area, so caution is urged.
