The Chainlink

I rode yesterday and today.
Looking for shoes that would work for the last two days. What are your recommendations for wet weather and cold windy weather shoes? Something to use all winter. I like to use my pedal straps, no clip ins.

What should I get? I don't mind spending the money for something I plan on using every week, all winter.

ps. my long winter riding life so far I have not used straps or clips. Makes me a loser probably but have not had any trouble keeping going! J.
Why would it be loser-ish to ride w/o straps and clips? I just happen to like having them, especially when it's wet because then I don't slip off my pedals. Always wearing a slim profiled shoe is sometimes a pain. I have a pretty good feeling this winter will be one without the toeclips. I want zee really warm feets!

If you really want to keep the straps, I would suggest wool socks (with glad sandwich baggies over the socks on really cold days before inserring feet into the shoes) and then use any low profile leather loafer with a layer of mink oil (comes in a shoe polish type container and you massage it into the leather periodically with your fingers) as a water proofer. It is kind of like the brooks proofhide used to protect brooks leather saddles.
Thanks everyone for your ideas. I'm going with an overboot route like the image below:

I'm tired of peeling off my wet shoes and hoping they dry by the next day.
thanks again
