Not sure what to post here....just putting feelers out.
Peggy and I are pretty big Springsteen fans; we are planning on
being at (at least *near*) these two shows; i.e. we don't have
tickets (yet). If worse comes to worse, we plan to have our car
parked nearby and hang out next door at Murphy's Bleachers
to 'listen' to Bruce, Patti, and the band. Any other fans here
want to join us ? just BYOB and BYOF (we will have a cooler
in the car). Also FYI - Murphy's has really good food and outdoor seating.
p.s. Does anyone here (1) know if the Wrigley neighborhood night game parking
restriction applies to 'events' (i.e. both cubs night games *and* concerts, etc.)
or *just* night games ? and (2) does anyone here live in wrigleyville and would
be willing to make a deal for a daily zone parking permit ??? (i.e. I really don't
want another ticket or god forbid get towed.
thanks in advance
Dan

Last time Springsteen was up here for a major event was the 105th Anniversary of Harley-Davidson. There was no doubt that the Harley riders would show.
Anyone make it there?
I kind of forgot about it until they mentioned my boy Eddie'd been there on the radio.
I was on Waveland Friday night for nearly the full 3.5 hours. Sound was pretty good for the price :). Best spot turned out to be close to the fire stattion entrance. I could even glimpse the video screen a little. Wasn't that impressed with the Vedder contribution, but Tom Morello brought it for Ghost of Tom Joad. People were dancing in the street by the end.
Eddie's surprise appearances can be hit or miss, but I love him just the same.
Not a huge Tom Petty fan but this is one of the best:
Made it both nights.
Setlists:
September 8th

Lookin' good, especially night 2.
If I'd have had any idea Eddie would be there I'd be at least $120 poorer right now.
The pouring rain just made it more fun.

I thought the rain might increase my chances of scalping a ticket...unfortunately the barometric fun that comes along with stormy weather took the wind out of my sails...
Got it at 7:30PM on Saturday night from the guys in front of Box Office Tickets on the South side of Addison across from Wrigley. I went on Friday night and was outside of the fire station, too (although my friend and I walked down Sheffield toward the end of the show and the sound was better over there I think because of the open door /hole in the wall. We wished we'd figured that out earlier.) Show was so great we decided to come back on Saturday, buy tickets, and be inside Wrigley for the total experience.
I had seen the guys outside of Box Office Tickets on Friday night. I figured if they were selling bad tickets, they wouldn't still be out there. I paid face value. I don't know how they make money.
Stayed dry Saturday night, eh? My dad and I were in 223 Friday night, and I got soaked on the field Saturday.

He apparently yucked it up with pals Chris Chelios, Tim Robbins, Kerry Wood and Theo Epstein at Stanley's on Armitage after the shows as well, as has been customary when he's in town for a gig. I need to stake that place out next time he's in town.

Yep, stayed dry but part of me wished we were getting wet, too: he made it look so wonderful!
How do you compare Friday and Saturday and how do you compare 223 and the field (standing or sitting?)? I was thinking next time, I'd LOVE to get standing room tickets.
