By weekday, Keith Kleinfeldt works as a plumber, plugging leaks at the Hammond Public Schools. By weekend, he’s likely to be traveling the nation, coordinating details and troubleshooting problems for America’s equivalents of the Tour de France.
Kleinfeld’s side gig is director of security for world-class, professional cycling events such as the Tour de Georgia, the Tour of Missouri, the Tour of California and the Tour of Colorado. Cyclists from around the world -- including such greats as Lance Armstrong, Greg LeMond and Levi Leipheimer -- compete in these races which draw sixteen teams of eight cyclists each. At Folks on Spokes’ next monthly meeting, Thursday, March 22, 7:30 p.m. at the Flossmoor Village Hall, Kleinfeldt will provide an inside look at pro cycling competition, American style.
In the realm of non-competitive cycling, spring is about here, and it’s time to tune up your bikes and think about trips you’d like to take. And it’s also time to encourage your friends to join us on weekend and special rides now being planned by the Club. Watch the newsletter, and watch the Folks on Spokes’ website and site on Chainlink.com to see what’s coming up. In April, come to the monthly meeting (always the fourth Thursday of the month at the village hall) to hear about Chainlink and the development of a cyclist community in greater Chicago.

Anyone have contact info for Mr. Kleinfeldt? I would love to pick his brain but chances are slim of making to Flossmoor.
Come on down for the meeting. Flossmoor Station Brewpub is right next to the train and it's excellent.
Try kk610@comcast.net, as well as the brewpub!
