Howdy,

Picked up a new vintage bike, old Schwin with a Bendix 2 speed kickback hub, and want to put some new tires on it.

I was thinking about the Schwalbe Super Moto Tires. Anyone have any experience with these? or any other type of fat tire?  I currently ride a vintage Motobecane with gatorskin 700 x 23 tires (that I love) so I am looking for a different ride.

Can anyone recommend any other type of tire that would help absorb the potholes, and work for all year riding?

Thanks,

Gabe

Are the rims marked S-6 or S-7?  If so you will be confined to Schwinn specific tires.  Kenda makes some good ones for the s-7 and if they are s-6 you can get Schwalbe marathons...

I have the Schwalbe Fat Franks and love them, btw.

I love the Schwalbe Marathons and Fat Franks. Both are terrific for city riding.

Thanks for the replies! I didn't know about the Schwin tires so I'll check the rims when I get the bike.

If so I'll definately go with the Marathons.
