The Chainlink

The organizers of the Glencoe Grand Prix would like to encourage spectators and fans to ride to the national bike races on June 2nd.

The Glencoe Grand Prix benefits the Glencoe Education Foundation, a not for profit and monies raised go toward supporting schools in the suburbs and the westside of Chicago.  They also have partnered with West Town Bikes.

They've asked us to create the cue sheet that they will share on their site.

I realize this is a fairly easy route to create, and thought Id ask the Chainlink community for help. If you have a cue sheet already made or suggestions for a route, post them here (you can attach documents to your replies).

Starting point can be anywhere in Chicago.

We will also be helping them race day with their bike valet and any money we raise will go to The Chainlink.

Well this one is easy as can be - Take California north to Montrose/Manor, Manor up to Lawrence (or simply Lawrence west if you're coming from the LFP) and hop on the North Shore Channel trail in Legion Park. Follow that to Peterson, jog across the river to the Skokie side of the trail and follow that all the way past Golf to Prairie. There's no light on McCormick but it's easy to spot by the end of the trail. Follow Prairie to Central St, jog right and then make your first left onto Prairie again and follow that to Wilmette Ave. Make a right and the start of the Green Bay trail will be on your left just after the Metra tracks. GB Trail leads you right to the start site.

Anyone have a mapping program and can turn this into a pdf that can be shared?  Or live map?

Julie,

I put Ash's route (suitable for small children) into mapmyride here:

http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/95204595/

Click on the 'notes' tab, it will have a cue sheet you can cut&paste and edit how you like.

 Here's my suggestion:

Thanks!
