Route from Carbondale Il to Cape Gerardeau Mo.

I am going to be riding from the Carbondale Il Amtrak Station to Cape Gerardeau Mo. in a few weeks, I was wondering if anyone is familier with the area and could give me a route or some advice. I estimate the ride to be about 50 miles.

I also am looking for a good bike map of the area.
