The Chainlink

Hello All,

Long time lurker.

Anyone taking a ride from Rockford back to Chicago?  Been doing some research and it seems the Illinois Prairie Path is the way to go.

100 miles can be done in a day, but probably want to take my time.  I know not any exciting stops along the way , but where it's a good half way spot to stop.  Maybe camp.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

I rode the northern section of the Grand Illinois trail a couple months ago, passing through Rockford then to Harvard where I caught the metra. You can check the Grand Illinois trail guide for camping options but I don't remember many. Skipping the IPP and riding to the metra in Harvard is a relatively easy ride (flat, some paths) and you'd be able to make it to Chicago without having to stop overnight.
