What is expected of Fork and the Road Ride Guides? They …
- Offer insight on planning routes to culinary designations in Chicago, including making tour theme, dining and mapping suggestions.
- Join Fork and the Road team members on route testing rides and offer feedback.
- Join Fork and the Road team members as they lead Fork and the Road bike tours.
- Use well-maintained personal bike and wear provided Fork and the Road t-shirt.
- Provide basic bike repair materials (tire patch, Allen wrench set, and other items as requested).
- Register arriving riders.
- Ensure that all riders have signed the consent form, emergency contact form, and waiver.
- Bring up the rear of the tour lineup while monitoring rider activity, alerting riders of traffic activity, and help corral riders and obey the rules of the road.
- Assist riders in any bicycle maintenance issues.
- Help riders secure their bicycles and enter tour locations efficiently.
- Support Fork and the Road team members as they explain location information and facilitate food and water delivery.
- Engage in friendly conversation with riders.
- Ride with team until the tour ends.
