I had to go to the western suburbs for work today, so I took the Metra from the Western Avenue/Grand stop out to Schaumburg.

To my amazement, I counted nine people with bikes get on the train with me at Western. Most of them got off at Itasca. It was like something out of a Danish painting, watching them all glide in various directions away from the Itasca station as the train pulled away.

Just curious if anyone knows whether Itasca is a particularly bike-friendly area, or if there are some tech companies there that attract young, urban cyclists, or what. It was a cool sight that I didn't expect to see.
