The Chainlink

I am not going to create an event for this; but is anyone here (REI Members only) going tomorrow to the Garage Sale at the Lincoln Park location (starts at 8am). A few years

ago we had a little group from here that met there and then biked to breakfast in Sticker Park.

Just asking...

happy friday howard...

BTW, There is also a Garage Sale at the Northbrook REI store on Sunday the 6th.

I thought REI was not having the garage sales any more, instead having a shelf in the store to sell "garage sale items" every day to anyone, not just members.

If they are bringing them back, or if I was mistaken, it would make me mucho happy.

How was this one today? I want to hit Northbrook tomorrow.

And James, they seem to have them still, albeit far less often.

What is with the "add to waitlist - Class Full" on the listing for the garage sale?  They used to be members-only but you didn't need to sign up in advance.

That doesn't mean anything. They probably just put it in the calendar, but you really don't have to sign-up to shop the Garage Sale. You just have to be a member to purchase anything.

Yeah, they were always happy to let anyone into the sale.  If you weren't a member they would sign you up at the register if you wanted to buy anything!

Hey Everyone,

Sorry for the confusion. The REI Garage Sales are open to all, no registration needed. As was suggested above, it is simply a limitation of our system that shows the event as "class full."

If you missed the sales this past weekend, REI Schaumburg will be having a two day Garage Sale on Saturday 4/12 and Sunday 4/13. http://www.rei.com/event/51089/session/88132

Garage Sales are designed to be a benefit to REI members, so while anyone can shop the sales, you must be a member to purchase. $20 buys you a lifetime membership into the Co-op. You may become a member at the sale.

Please feel free to contact me or call your local store if you have any other questions.

Best Regards,
