This summer I plan to do more longer, non-competitive rides. I have a Surly LHT that is a reasonable fit, but I am willing to spend some money on a proper fitting.

I am looking for recommendations for bike shops in the city that can do a good bike fitting on an existing bike. I would appreciate if you could indicate the approximate cost of the fitting.

Thanks, Frank

Duppie - the best option is find a bike shop with a 'fit kit' - this is a special bike fitting bike that, when performed by someone who is properly trained and certified; can give you the exact measurements that suit you and your riding style and preferences. Folks that have custom frames built go this route.

I believe Get a Grip has one (not the location at 621 W. Fulton); I believe it's 4359 W Irving Park Road.

Also - maybe Mission Bay (Randolph/H alsted) since they cater to triathletes and many of them
get custom built bikes (but road bikes can be done just the same).

Also - maybe call Yojimbo's or stop by and pick Marcus' brain : I'm sure he has a wealth of info.
from being involved with Track Cats and XXX teams.

just my $.02

Dan,
Thanks for your reply.
I actually found a way to search on chainlink without resorting to CL's lame searchbox. I did get some good results on bike fitting.
I'll close this thread before Lee swoops in.
