Recommendations for touch up paint?

Apparently I can't have nice things.  This morning I picked up my new Jamis Satellite, which I am SO excited about!  But in all of my new-bike-giddiness, I managed to nick the frame with my U-lock - in less than an hour of ownership no less.  Bah!

Any recommendations for paint/products/techniques for fixing a relatively minor blemish?  Anything to avoid?  I know its a tiny detail, but I want this baby to be pristine for as long as possible!  :)

Talk to the shop you bought the bike from. They might have spare touch up paint or might be able to order some for you.

nail polish works great, if you cannot find the exact shade sometimes you can mix two colors... also go to an auto parts store and buy some car wax, 2-3 coats will help your new baby shine for a long time

RE - car wax : furniture polish also works (lemon pledge or generic).

smells good too.

bike is more valuable than the coffee table btw

Your LBS should carry some touch-up-paint, but they will likely not brag about it. If you need anything tightened up or replaced/fixed (make something up if you need to) then you should ask when you go in if they can touch up a scratch or something, especially if it is really bugging you. Just be REALLY nice about it.

On a side note, if you know they have touch-up-paint but are not sure if they are going to charge you, there isn't a mechanic on the planet that wouldn't appreciate some kind words and baked goods or beer. Not sayin' anything, just sayin'.

Jamis sends touch-up paint with (most of) their bikes. Go where you got it & they'd probably be glad to track some down for you.

Duly noted Matthew. ...And what a coincidence - I love to bake, drink beer, and talk about bikes (usually at the same time). I will definitely be paying a visit to my bike shop soon...gifts in hand. :)
