I added a full zip to one of my wool cycling jerseys. I think it was about $30 at my local tailor.

It is a easy job. they should charge about 35.00 bucks.

I took my jersey to my closest dry cleaner when I used to live in Noble Square, which happened to be "Very Best Dry Cleaners" at 919 N Ashland. It's a typical small-time dry cleaner, I couldn't even find them through a google search. I had to look it up via google maps street view.

I'm not saying that I necessarily recommend this particular seamstress, although she did a perfectly fine job and repaired a number of pieces of my cycling gear. I'd say that any tailor local to you could do it just as well. I think it's a pretty easy job.

Now, Gus's Tailor shop next door (913 Ashland) is a super-legit place that I took all my dress clothes to be altered. That place is awesome, but a little more busy and expensive. Try em both?

If you work in/near the Loop, try Maria's alerations. They do a ton of work and can handle this. I don't know if I would trust that nice of jacket with a random dry cleaners. Maria's completely redid a pantleg from a suit that got caught in my bike chain. Can only tell it was restitched if you look close.
