Included in this full-service bike tune-up:

Clean bike in bike wash
Adjust brakes, replace brake cables, and, if necessary, replace pads
True wheels
Adjust hubs, headset, and bottom bracket
Replace shifter cables and adjust derailleurs
Check tires and chain for wear
Lube chain and all cables

Ciclo Urbano supports West Town Bikes, a community bicycle workshop. Revenue from Ciclo Urbano helps fund West Town Bikes’ mission of providing bike education for Chicago youth, as well as affordable and reliable transportation for Humboldt Park, West Town, and the Chicago bike community at large.

Among the regular classes offered are Bike Maintenance, DIY Tune-up, Build-A-Bike, and Wheel Building. Weekly Open Shop classes let bikers use the tools and facilities with the assistance of skilled instructors and fellow bikers. Service is offered in both English and Spanish. Internships and entry level jobs are available for some graduates of bicycle youth programs. It’s a bike shop, but much more than a bike shop.
