Hey all. I'm originally from Iowa and was planning on joining up with my Iowa LBS to ride RAGBRAI 2009 (it will be my first time riding it) only to find out they are not taking a group this year. Does anyone have any information on local groups to train with, local groups to provide to/from bike transport, or local group to ride the event with (support wagons on ride, etc.)? If so, any and all information (name, contact info., website, approx. cost, etc.) would be much appreciated!!!

I would suggest registering on their forum... and/or looking into the official charter services on their website

the route should be announced in the next couple days...

woot! scored a wristband in the lottery selection!
CUBS: Chicago Urban Bicycling Society may have a spare slot or two.

Also, you can train with Chicago Cycling Club.
Hey, all:

My friends and I are all set with wristbands, transportation, charter service and so forth...

But I'm thinking it would be cool if all the Chainlink people doing RAGBRAI could figure out a way to connect at the event. You can't have too many eating/drinking/riding buddies!!!
I'm down for that.
I'm thinking of maybe volunteering with Peanut Butter Jam if I can get the time off, so perhaps I'll see y'all out there.
Hey, Jon:

If I see you, I'll definitely buy you a beer!

I'm looking forward to hanging out with everyone hopefully!!!
