I got this for my PUBLIC bike last year, and ended up never installing it. It's unused, in plastic, with the mounting hardware and installation instructions. 24lb capacity. Mounts on most bikes with 700cc wheels and 22.2mm stem. $15.

Please email polyphone at hotmail if interested.

LOL

Way to "cut a deal" for the unwashed masses on Craiglist for $15, and ask the discriminating bicyclists of Chainlink for $20...

EDIT: Oh god, it gets better: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PUBLIC-bikes-front-rack-with-spring-clip-/2...

Eric: point taken, but please do not use The Chainlink to harangue people. If you are actually interested in purchasing the item, can you work it out with the seller?

If not, is your mockery a productive contribution to the dialogue in this forum?

Note to all: public jerk-ery discourages participation and brings down the site.  Boo.

Meanwhile...I bought a bag from Erin and it is AWESOME ;)

From what I've noticed, the norm around here is to offer stuff on the Chainlink for less than one does on Craig's. I don't see Eric's post as mockery. He is simply pointing out our customs and the OP's divergence therefrom. I suppose he could have been gentler about it, but instead of yelling at him, I'm choosing to be grateful that he spoke up for our interests.

Sorry, didn't mean to be an ass about it.

Maybe I should have just directed Chainlinkers to request the Craigslist price if they were interested in buying. It just seemed like an odd move on the sellers part...rather the opposite of what one might expect.

Um, what did you intend to do then?

And who doesn't Google something before they buy it these days, especially from a stranger?

You got me, Eric. I am the dark overlord of online marketplaces. All I want is to force the discriminating cyclists of the Chainlink to pay a $5 surcharge for everything.

Or, maybe I'm moving this weekend, and have been putting up so many items for sale on various websites (as you've sleuthed) that I accidentally priced this at $20 (the same price as the bag Melissa mentioned, which I posted at the same time) instead of $15. I guess there's no room for human error on The Chainlink?

You certainly have the right to point out such a discrepancy. But, there are many ways to get your point across. Hopefully next time you'll choose to be less rude.

Hope you're enjoying it, Melissa!
