Since 1994 Ladder Up volunteers have helped over 124,000 families and individuals in Chicagoland with their tax return.

 

Who’s eligible for Ladder Up’s services?

Generally you are eligible for our services if your income is below $45,000 for a family and $20,000 for an individual. See the complete eligibility requirements here

 

Where are we located?

Ladder Up has convenient locations all over the city and the suburbs. Locations are typically open on Saturday morning, with some weeknights available as well. Find locations and their opening hours here.

 

What do I need to bring?

Financial Student Aid

Ladder Up also provides students help with applying for financial aid. See a list of locations that offer that service here.

It's a nice gesture, but I'm always a little bit surprised by the "need."

 

Either you make enough money to pay a pro to squeeze every drop of blood out of the loopholes so you can save some of your hard-earned money -or- you don't make enough money to make doing your taxes hard at all.

 

Unless, of course, you are illiterate.

 

Help with Student Aid is another story.  That is a virtual minefield to navigate and the poorer you are the harder it becomes -unlike filing "taxes."
