This should be of interest to other Chainlinkers. My quick take - this will be a nice update to the trail at Fullerton. The stretch to be filled in just south of Fullerton gets deluged with water in rough weather and also forces riders to take the "muddy path" during winter months when it ices over.

Desperately needed. Can't happen soon enough.

Two concerns:

  1. Is the south end transition far enough away from the trail to 100% prevent the icing issue?
  2. How will the trail be affected during construction? This area is already severely constricted in terms of space and I imagine it'll get worse before it gets better.

Maybe someone with a better memory can help, here.  I attended a meeting last year at which the project was being discussed.  I think they are going to be building some sort of barrier that will stop the wave action from getting to shore.  I also think the trail is going to be rerouted behind the theater while they build the park area and also moved up during construction to where the "running path" is  now located.  It almost certainly will be even worse getting through during the construction, but should be better when it is finished.
