We received this email from Joe, from the Quick Release Bike Shop, at the Chicago Stolen Bike Registry.  (Thanks for being a good member of the cycling community, Joe!)  We've been struggling lately with several recent reports like this: of bikes or parts-of-bikes that are found, rather than stolen--and haven't really come up with a solution for posting found objects on the CSBR--without making the search function difficult and the statistics of stolen bikes unusable.  So, instead of the CSBR, I'm posting this here on The Chainlink, in the hopes that someone will recognize their stuff, or their friend's stuff, and get them back to their rightful owner.

Subject: Recovered bike accessories

On 11/22 I found the following items in Manor Park (4700 N, 2900 W ):

1 Orange dairy crate

2 Louis Garneau helmets (1 yellow, 1 blue )

1 Kryptolock

My take is that they accompanied a stolen bike as far as the park and then were discarded.  They can be picked up at Quick Release Bike Shop, 1527 N. Ashland,  773 871-3110.  Bring the key for the lock.

Regards,

Joe Hall
