CHALLENGE! Can you add to this photo archive? How far back can we go?

Extra credit for vice presidents or candidates who lost their presidential bids; Sara Palin on a bike anyone? Michael Dukakasis on a bike? Spiro Agnew (super tough!)?

(Please identify them by name and dates or other info.)

Lets start off with our current Prez and lead 'em backwards...

Here's another President Bill Clinton photo-- 'tho hes not actually riding the bike, but at least hes promoting biking and he's with Lace Armstrong, which adds to the biking gravitas.

We had a black & white photo of George H.W. Bush, with wife Barbara, on bikes during their visit to China in the late 80s/early 90s. Now here's a color photo at some press/photo op. I wonder if that's Barbara's hand on the bike to the right (those are definitely lady shoes that person is wearing):

And here is his son, President George W. Bush (43rd President) in another bike focused photo op with (I believe) a German chancellor or dignitary. Interesting that over time bikes have become a common (and popular) gift for ambassadors and politicians to offer as gifts of cultural exchange.

The last few photos have been of Presidents in PRESENTATIONS of bikes, or staged photo ops STRADDLING bikes (posers!); but lets get back to the real bike riders. The politicians who actually use biking in their lives.

Though not a president (yet??), prior presidential candidate--and now Secretary of State--John Kerry is an avid biker. Here he is biking while demonstrating some less than safe biking techniques (helmet off, one-handed and TALKING ON CELL PHONE! Well, guess that's how an experienced, confident, power biker rolls in Wash DC...

Since we are including Presidential candidates in this forum, here is a larger- less cropped-version of the previously posted photo of Mitt Romney that now shows a biking companion. This was a much younger Mitt in his 20s (?) and the photo is taken in France. I wonder if they were on mission at the time; as its common practice for the LDS Church missionaries to use bikes to travel when they are proselytizing away from home.

Sweet!!  Killing four birds--I mean presidents!--with one stone. And now we have Teddy Roosevelt added to our list (in the Cheats category) along with whoever #3 is supposed to be- I'll bet its Thomas Jefferson. Thanks for the contribution Elizabeth!

Isn't  that the order in which they appear on Mt. Rushmore?

Mt. Rushmore is Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt, Lincoln. (Full disclosure - I did a Google image search to find that out.)

Its been a while, since the last post, but I found a new photo of Jimmy Carter on Bicycle!

Part of a sub-series of the multiple photo ops of presidents on bike in China (George H.W. Bush Sr. and wife Barbara did it too; b/c it is such a ubiquitous form of transportation there)

Another of Bill & Hillary Clinton, riding together on the beach...
