It may be off topic but should be on our minds.

Next month the United Nations is having another round of discussions on the climate. Previous groups have met with limited sucess because the world does not see the big dog (USA) as an involved world partner in making changes in the climate picture.

Now we have a chance to tell the world, and our government, that we want climate change to be discussed, to be brought to the front burner and changes to be made to stop the degradation of our air, land and water.

SOOOooo...On September 21st the Sunday before the UN kicks off its meeting of world leaders some 750 groups, environmental (Seirra Club, 350.org, and many others), Unions  social, religious and community are going to put an exclaimation point to the drive to stop the Climate Desecration we have been seeing.

The Sierra Club is running busses from Chicago for a dash to NYC and back (*leave Sat return Monday) Kansas City is also doing this and there are other ways to get there...I'm AMTRAKing Thurs night and sataying at a hostel til Monday for the return train. Even considered bringing a bike, hey its relatively cheap in a box.

For those that cannot make the East Coast Strut there will be local happenings to show our stripes and demonstrate that the PEOPLE of the USA care about our air, land and water for today and the future.

Speak now LOUDLY for the changes are happening too quickly to not to try to do sumfin before the downhill slide is unstoppable.

What an amazing gathering. The New York press put the crowd at 311,000 people and it was great to see and talk to such a massive group[ all concerned about our degrading climate picture.

This is sea change for social movements. over a quarter of a million to make a statement, peacefully and forcefully shows that people do care and can be heard...except for the networks where nobody noticed

that the streets of Manhattan were filled with activists of all stripes, and ages talking to the powers that be...

Plus there were 2600plus actions around the world from Australia to Africa, from Paris and Rome to San Fransisco.

Yep we must keep moving towards the future...
