There were some 'detours' in effect for cyclists on the far northern portion of the LFP this morning (and presumably for the coming days/weeks) - the detours reroute you via trails closer to the lake, some of which are covered in sand - anyone not wishing to ride on/through sand should probably look at taking an alternative route.

This morning and tonight they were repaving just south of Fullerton. The detour for bikes, joggers, walkers, roller-bladers, etc was to the rutted, narrow path above the LFP.  And there were still the folks who refused to slow down despite the conditions.

On another note, this afternoon just north of Diversey there was a passenger car driving right down the middle of the path apparently oblivious to the fact he was not on a road.  Sometimes the LFP is more scary than any street.

That's got GPS-induced written all over it.

I was dumb and took the path home this afternoon...it actually wasn't too terrible. Did anyone see what caused the car accident at the north ave parking entrance? It would have been around 3 PM. Car or bike, it never hurts to calm down and take it easy on a Friday afternoon in June.
