THANK YOU Chicago cycling community.
I was enjoying my commute so much this morning, from Old Town down Wells into the Loop, that I completely missed losing a pannier on the way. Don't know if it bounced off in the alley behind my apartment, on some pothole in River West, weaving through the traffic near the Mart, crossing the river, or dodging the posts under the El in the Loop.
There wasn't a LOT of value in there, but my lock, clothes, and some magazines and I couldn't go to work without it.
So I right away retraced my ride back home, and didn't find it. Decided to then walk the same route back to work to see if I missed it on the return ride (and found out it only takes 48 minutes to walk to work) but still no luck.
A magazine inside had my address on it, and when I got home after work, someone had dropped the bag at my door. With no note, no need for recognition; just a good deed, anonymously done.
It for an instant reminded me of the goodness of most people, and cyclists in particular, so I want to send some good karma back to the cycling community.
You are all the bee's knees.

that's awesome. I'm amazed everyday by the loyalty and good karma in the bicycle community here. My non bike friends don't get it all and never world cause the real world ain't like that.
What other city gives out free fleece balaclavas donated and made by the community just to get more people riding bikes?
That's so great to hear Rob....it's all about possessing and giving out good karma!
I only logged on to Chainlink right now to post about the bike lock key I found heading north on Elston (@North) today around 7:30pm. Please see my other post for details on the found key.
Pay it forward.
