The Chainlink

Hey all,

Due to a hectic job I've been riding a lot less than I'd like to for the past few years.  I'm too slow for most of the group rides in town (I average around 16-17 mph and have an FTP of around 200 watts), but I'd like to change that by finding a person or persons who live in or around the loop to ride with on a regular basis.  Mornings and weekends work best for me, as I tend to work pretty long hours.  With that said, I can get out of the office for a weeknight ride or two if I have sufficient notice.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Esfand

Heck. I'm so outtashape, I measure my FTP in megabytes.
I've got to ask (am I the only one that doesn't know), whats an FTP? And what does 200 watts mean in this context? Clue me in please!
"Functional Threshold Power (FTP) is the highest power that a rider can maintain in quasi-steady state without fatiguing for approximately one hour. When power exceeds FTP, fatigue will occur much sooner, whereas power just below FTP can be maintained considerably longer."
Well, I have no idea what my File Transfer Protocol is (lol) but the speed sounds about right. I'd love to go on some rides with you whenever our schedules match up. I do live up by Loyola, but I have no problem meeting down there, or halfway, or whatever.

Hope you're up for some cold weather riding...

James
Thanks for the explaination. Sure doesn't sound "out of shape" to me!
Call Vision Quest. I'm in a weekly class there with a 218.

Cheers
Starve and suffer with me, I guess that is an old picture of you ?
