well, i'm never one to deny free speech or promote censorship. don't watch the show and don't vote for her. perhaps other advertising supporter of Disc. Channel will pull their money out too.
Asking the network not to cary Palin's show based on her sad record of environmental destruction isn't a violation of free speech, nor is it censorship. And Sarah Palin is not exactly lacking forums for dissemination of her views.
Feel Better Ryan ;-) And Anne, her ass-can supporters voice their opinions as often as they want. Part of the reason limp dick liberals have a problem is cause they "respect" other peoples opinions when they certainly won't be respecting yours. Sign the petition.
having worked in the arts for several decades, i've had firsthand experience with those who petition for something "not" to be shown to the public before it's written or produced. it's no different from a storefront theatre to a television network - sponsors, advertisers or corporate funders are all confronted with the decisions of the programming staff, artistic directors or producers to decide how that money is used. please let me watch the documentary and judge for myself?

let's hope the market with not bear her agenda any more than it already does. in the meantime, let's step away from computer keyboards and vote and support causes financially.

Let's be honest here. Most of the country is to dumb for us to let them judge for themselves. That would be why this moron of a human has a following in the first place. We're not respecting the arts we're keeping lies off the television where impressionable minds who tune into Discovery Channel won't be exposed to manure for the mind. (And for the record even the founding fathers thought letting the majority of people vote was foolhardy.)

Calling her show "the arts" devalues what you do.

So Sign the petition then write a letter to the advertisers on Discovery and say you won't be buying their products as well. That way you are voting with your money. If it makes it to air might be to late.
I agree, gabe. The problem is the effects of our liberal indoctrination programs in primary, secondary and post-secondary schools wear off in too many people as they begin to have children and pay taxes. Only by shutting down all dissenting views can we have the population in the correct mindset to pass the law required to bring about the socialist, multi-cultural ecotopia we are all praying for.
thank you envane.

Did you sign the petition yet or are you busy having a ridiculous argument with me? Cause you have 2 problems.

1) Just cause I'm against Sarah Palin doesn't mean I'm a liberal. ;-) So you might sound a lil like a chump. ;-)

2) If you think the Dems didn't waste the entire year arguing with each other cause they are a bunch of limp dick panty wastes then you in fact are a chump and part of the problem. Keep "respecting" those that don't respect you.
sounds like i'm a chump either way. what to do.

This is a waste of time and energy. The OFF button on my tv, for any programming, is my petition.

Democracy is messy and it sounds like you're trying to make a decision what others should be able to watch. I guess I'm a chump now judging by the arguments laid forth.
I see things this way: Whether you are a Republican, Democrat, Tea Party, independent, or Green supporter, the politicians are campaigning for the same thing: getting enough votes to retain or gain office. If there is enough public support to get them in by telling voters they will fix all of the problems without raising taxes they will do it. Then "govern" in the best interest of their party or vote against the other evil party (pick a side, it goes both ways).

Republicans routinely vote against an idea that comes from a different political party. Democrats do the same thing. In fact, a lot of the ideas are similar, but it can not be good for the nation unless my party came up with it.

Getting in a huff about whether or not Sarah Palin should have a show on Discovery Channel helps her out by publicity. If you don't agree with what she is about and says, then don't watch. Its a free country, you can avoid the show. If you like her, watch her show.

We could always develop a Federal task force to determine what is healthy to watch and what beliefs are determental to society... or we could just live by the freedom of choice and save some money and effort.

Petition for more bike infrastructure funding. That is a cause I can get behind. Whether or not a former (and maybe future) politician is on a cable channel isn't even on the radar.
In any case, it looks like Discovery made a very bad decision:
