Many of you know that I have become a crazy dog person since moving to Chicago and adding Cricket and Georgia to my family.  I am participating in a somewhat idiotic (the Shelter Shiver) event on January 1 that involves enduring pain and suffering in the chilly waters of Lake Michigan.  http://www.firstgiving.com/martyambos

I will be wading and submerging into the frigid waters of the Lake (about 34 degrees at that point) to raise money for Project Rescue Chicago (http://www.projectrescuechicago.org/).  This organization is a 501c3 tax-exempt non-profit organization that was founded in 2009 by three long-time animal rescue volunteers. They are an all-breed group dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of abandoned dogs and puppies in and around the Chicago area.

PRC is one of the few groups where the directors spend every single day with the dogs while they are waiting for their forever homes. They know the dogs in their care and will find their match!

If you love dogs and feel supporting my fundraising, feel free to visit http://www.firstgiving.com/martyambos and make whatever contribution you are comfortable with.  Or if you just would like to encourage me to jump in the Lake, visit http://www.firstgiving.com/martyambos as well and make whatever contribution you are comfortable with . . .

Donated, but don't ask me to join you in the cold water!
