I wanted too... but riding the Dairyland Dare and ODRAM in a 7 day span is a bit much. You should put up a post-ride review for people unfamiliar with it. I know its still a small ride compared to something like RAIN.
Dairyland Dare sounds interesting. GLR brevet routes come very close (Barneveld) but mostly stay south of road/highway(?) 18/151. Dairyland Dare routes north of the highway look even more hilly. Hills are hard but coming down the other side is so much fun, so I will keep DD in mind. How did your ride go?
ODRAM is rolling/flat compared to DD, so keep it in mind when you start to itch to get back on the bike around Wednesday :p
I really enjoyed the DD. Really well run organization. Probably the best rest stops I've seen on the dozen or so midwest rides I've participated in. The first 50K loop was south of Dodgeville and mostly rollers. The rest heads towards the Blue Mounds and included 8-9 category 4 climbs. The day definitely got harder as it went along. Finished the 200k route with 9.5k feet elevation. I cannot imagine doing the 250 or 300k routes at this point.
ODRAM does sounds fun. If I had to choose, I would pick that over RAIN. The scenery must be pretty serene out there. Plus dipping tires in Michigan and Erie is pretty awesome. I'll be doing that next year for sure.
Thanks for turning me on to the GLR Brevet series. This sounds like a great (terrible) idea for next season.
Good, glad to hear that! GLR brevets are early in the season. Even if the terrain is not as challenging as that of DD, weather seems to make up for that.
I was thinking about DD, but yeah, it was a little too much with everything else going on.
The GLR Brevets are a really terrible great idea. I hope to do more of the series next year. I'm hoping to ride each distance very slowly, instead of just the 200K very slowly. I'm also hoping to make it across Michigan before the bus leaves to come back.

Haha! Don`t worry chief, when my quest for the perfect brevet is over, I will have a fleet of faster bikes enough for a soccer team. I think those bikes will move us from "very slow" to "slow" category :))

Thanks djm!
I think I'm developing my own self-supported ODRAM, with a different route.... What does it look like heading into Detroit's west side?
