I want to get mustache handlebars for my bike. I am wondering if I can use the brake levers that are currently on my drop bars on mustache handlebars; or will I need to buy new brake levers? In addition to the cost of the bars (and possibly levers), any idea how much a bike shop would charge to do this?

I switched to mustache handlebars when I was pregnant and never switched back to drop bars. My husband did use the same brake levers as I had on my drop bars, just re-attached them. No idea on the cost, but he did have to use new cables as the old ones were not long enough to reach the new brake position.

Cheers, Jen
Hang on to your old bars. I have seen many cases of people who switch to moustache bars only to encounter wrist pains and numbness. They aren't for everyone. Some people do make the switch successfully. Good luck!
Thanks for the info!
It's best to have the M-bars set level or a bit higher than your seat to discourage wrist pain or numbness. Double wrapping the bars and getting a shorter stem might also be a good idea.
Ha-Ha. Look to the right... Google is trying to sell us mustache trimmers.
firefox has an add on that blocks ads, so i cant see it. is it as nice as you make it out to be?
