"Morris teacher, Janice Wendling and her husband, Mark Wendling were killed while cycling on Tuesday evening. They were hit from behind by a SUV. The SUV was driven by a 16 year-old male who was one of teacher Janice Wendling's former students. He was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid a 'crash'."

"Mark and Janice were doing a training ride to prepare for a fundraising event for a MS organization this weekend in Dekalb called, Bike MS : Tour de Farms."

Another awful and tragic cycling incident. May Mark and Janice Wendling rest in peace.

Note: The idea that all cycling fatalities should be placed in an ongoing thread, (Another cyclist fatality) seems to be an insensitive and improper way of honoring the fallen cyclists memory. Like an obituary, each fallen cyclist needs to have their story told and the details of the incident revealed and discussed in a separate discussion. This is my opinion on respect for the fallen in our community.

I think you misunderstood my motives. I wasn't intending to relegate all cyclists' fatalities to a small, invisible corner of the world. I wanted there to be one place to look for initial announcements, with the intent that it would be easier to learn about new crashes. People can just subscribe to a single thread to see announcements of all such crashes. I just linked back here from the "Another cyclist fatality" thread. The overall idea I have in mind is a bit fragmented, but here are the actions I think would be worth considering in the wake of a fatal crash. Having one place to learn about a new crash makes it easier to take action on your next (group or individual) ride.
