Thanks to an almost nonexistent Spring with excessive amounts of rainfall it makes me wonder if we're heading into a mini-ice age. The limestone trails in the area have been a real mess.  Normally, by this time of the year I have no problem taking the road bike out on these MUPs, but not this season.  I can't recall having to ride a MTB this late, but I'm glad I have one.  Numerous puddles, sloppy and muddy patches, and washouts that leave the smallest, sand-like limestone residue all over the paths. All of this would probably make for a great CX course, but it ain't a good general purpose riding surface.  Anyone else experiencing the same (most of my riding is on the PP to the NW of Wheaton)?

In the past couple of weeks, I've taken the Skokie Valley Line, Sauganash, Green Bay, Forest Preserve trail to the Botanical Gardens, and the northern portion of Des Plaines river trail. The only one flooded was a small portion of the latter.
