Sorry, I should have said looking for a new (to me) "used" frame.

I've heard pretty good things about the Kilos but I'm a lil skeptical, TBH

Something about buying the bike over the internet doesn't really sit well with me. I'd like to test ride the bike before purchasing. Also, if the bike is so great then why is it so cheap?

Nashbar usually has some decent SS/fixie/track frames as well for pretty cheap.  

Ugly welded construction, but if you want a nice steel lugged frame you best look in the vintage department of CL 'cause nobody makes that stuff anymore for <$1000 in the painted, prepped, & ready to build price range.

Love old geared bikes converted. Fuji's, Raleighs, Schwinn LeTours. Cheap as heck and they look great. I have an old Bridgestone (Kabuki) that I love.

Hey Adam, I have a Kilo WT from Bikes Direct that I absolutely love. It has the same geometry as a steamroller, but is very reasonably priced and the build quality is fantastic for what it is. I'm moving at the end of fall and would be looking to sell my bike as a complete/parts bundle, the only thing is the frame is 59 cm, which may just be a tad to big. I have an '08 KHS Flite 100 that's been on my bike trainer for a while. The front fork is bent slightly back but still rideable, and it needs some new tubes/tires. If you're interested, make me an offer.

I actually do have a beautiful Univega Gran Premio  (frame has some small rust spots but overall the frame is awesome) with some pretty nice components (all original Suntour Cyclone) that I've been debating converting. The bike is super cool but I know that I will ride it a hell of a lot more if I convert it. And I love the frame. Triple butted chromoly from the 80s!
