Looking for Carol Stream bicyclists!

I'm reproducing a copy of the text I sent to the League of Illinois Bicyclists asking for volunteers here, as follows... thanks for your time!

If you have experience trying to organize around for your city/village around the common theme of bicycling, feel free to post here about how successful/unsuccessful your efforts were, as well. :-)

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for residents of the village of Carol Stream that would be interested in forming an ad-hoc commitee to support and promote bicycling in the village. This group would most likely meet 10-12 times a year.

Although there is no specific goal in mind, some possible objectives for the group could be to:

* Work with the village to create a bicycle plan
* Identify, discuss and act on ideas promoted by the League of American Bicyclists for their Bicycle Friendly Community Award program
* Encouraging Carol Stream businesses to promote bicycling by providing convenient access to bicycle parking
* Helping to promote existing Safe Routes To School efforts
